Anthropic, the AI company behind Claude AI, is the intended end user and is in contract negotiations with the developer Verrus. Detroit-based Walbridge owns the property and is the general contractor for the build-out of the center. The project has faced public backlash and protests due to concerns about noise, water, and electricity use. Lyon Township has passed a moratorium on data center proposals, but it does not affect Project Flex. It is unclear if and when the project will break ground. |
