Description
Description | Public awareness of climate change is high: what is required now is to transform this into climate action, and to raise awareness of effective responses to climate change that exist today. Project Groundswell uses the visual storytelling power and popular appeal of photography and digital media to address this need. In a 24-month programme, 4 cultural partners in Ireland, Portugal, Italy and Austria will work together to create: -new opportunities for artists and cultural professionals from across Europe to cooperate around the development and presentation to audiences of high quality new work that makes visible a range of credible climate actions, with a sharing of professional experience and practice using both physical and online platforms. - new opportunities for artists and cultural professionals to develop skills in environmentally sustainable practices. - opportunities for wide audiences to visit high quality group exhibitions and to engage in a structured way with issues of sustainability and climate action, and to discover new perspectives and spark wider dialogue on climate action among their peer networks. - opportunities for global audiences to engage with the project through co-produced publications, original audiovisual materials over the web, social media and print-on-demand digital platforms and on the project website. Project outputs will form a resource that will continue beyond the life of the project.
