Description

Provision of a senior loan of up to MAD 130 million (equivalent to EUR 12 million) to Guelmim-Oued Noun Region (the "Region" or the "Client") to finance investments aimed to improve drinking water supply for households in rural areas in the province of Guelmim and to upgrade four existing Waste Water Treatment Plants ("WWTPs"), enabling the reuse of treated water for watering green spaces in the Region (collectively the "Project"). The Bank's loan will be supplemented by an investment grant of USD 1 million from the Global Environment Facility ("GEF") under the Financing Advanced Environmental Technologies in the Mediterranean Sea Region for Water Systems and Clean Coasts ("ENVITECC") Programme for the upgrade of four existing WWTPs. The Bank's loan benefits from first-loss risk cover from the European Fund for Sustainable Development ("EFSD").
