Kratos Defense & Security Solutions is building a new mid-tier coupled arc jet and laser hypersonic materials testing facility in Odon, Indiana. The facility will simulate the aerothermal environment experienced by hypersonic vehicles during high-speed flight, providing critical testing capabilities for materials used in hypersonic weapons and vehicles. It aims to fill a gap in the U.S. testing ecosystem by offering higher throughput, lower cost, and more accessible scheduling compared to national-level arc jet facilities.
