The Isoneva Solar Power Project is a large-scale renewable energy initiative located in Suonenjoki, Finland. It transforms a former peat extraction site into a 71.56 MWp solar farm, contributing to Finland’s carbon neutrality goals and the EU’s clean energy transition. The plant will generate approximately 64,81 GWh of clean electricity annually—enough to power thousands of homes—while avoiding around 4,900 metric tons of CO2 emissions each year. The project features high-efficiency solar panels mounted on fixed racks with a south-facing orientation, supported by inverters, transformers, and a service building. Designed for long-term operation of over 30 years, Isoneva demonstrates the potential for large-scale solar in Nordic conditions and will play a key role in strengthening Finland’s renewable energy supply and energy security.
