The project includes plans to limit impacts on local water systems through the use of closed-loop cooling systems for both the data center and an associated micro-grid power plant. The project has faced public debate, opposition, and a lawsuit. The Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners authorized the issuance of $165 billion of Industrial Revenue Bonds in September 2025 to support the development. The Board has adopted a resolution to seek clarification and updated information regarding the project, ensuring transparency and compliance with agreements, especially concerning water usage. |
