Project Jupiter Data Centers Microgrids

Project Jupiter is a data centers complex being constructed for Oracle Corp. in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. It includes two microgrids with up to 41 natural gas-fueled turbines capable of producing up to 2,697 Megawatts of electricity, more than El Paso Electric's four power plants combined. The project is part of the $500 billion Stargate Project, a joint venture of OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank. The site covers 1,400 acres and will have four data center buildings and two microgrids. The project cost is about $165 billion over many years, including updates for computers and servers. The project has raised environmental concerns due to pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Energy Transfer plans to build a $60 million natural gas pipeline to fuel the power plants, targeted for operation by August 15. Oracle plans to integrate solar and clean energy by 2029. BorderPlex Digital is the developer, and Stack Infrastructure is building and will operate the complex.
