Description | The Henry County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) received a $6,000 grant from the Alzheimer's Foundation of America to expand its Project Lifesaver Program. The program helps law enforcement quickly locate individuals who have wandered from home due to cognitive-related conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and autism. Participants wear a small wrist or ankle transmitter that sends a radio-frequency signal to specially trained deputies if they become lost. The grant will be used to purchase additional transmitters, batteries, replacement wristbands, and tracking equipment to serve more families in Henry County. |
