Description

Description

Project Mandala is a 400 million litre per annum Hydroprocessed Esters & Fatty Acids (HEFA) biorefinery located in Gladstone, dedicated to the production and storage of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and Renewable Diesel (RD). The project aims to build long-term industrial capability and strengthen Australia's economic resilience by expanding domestic manufacturing and service capacity across critical sectors including defence and biofuels. The feasibility study confirmed a strong technical and commercial case for the project, with detailed technical analysis by Topsoe and Long Energy & Resources (Aust). The biorefinery is designed with over 130 million litres of fuel storage and flexibility to produce up to 400 million litres per annum of SAF or up to 320 million litres per annum of renewable diesel.
