Project Nexus eVTOL Air Taxi Pilot Program

planned

Project Nexus is a three-year pilot program coordinated by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) under a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) initiative to test electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for air taxi and other services. The program involves phased testing including initial test flights with existing aircraft, medical and cargo transport testing, and final eVTOL air taxi flights across the Texas Triangle (Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston) and surrounding rural communities. The project aims to build infrastructure to support advanced air mobility and integrate electric aircraft safely into U.S. airspace.
