Description | Project Permian Phase I is NET Power's flagship project aiming to deliver the first 80MW of clean firm power in West Texas by 2029. It is the first operational natural gas combined cycle facility with carbon capture and sequestration in the United States. The project uses natural gas combined cycle power generation with Entropy's post-combustion carbon capture technology, grid-connected 80MW power delivery, and has indicative terms with Occidental for 100% of CO₂ offtake. The timeline includes a final investment decision in the second half of 2026, construction start in the second half of 2027, and commercial operation in the first half of 2029. The project site has significant scale-up potential to 800MW by deploying ten 80MW units. |
