Project Re:claim is the United Kingdom's first commercial-scale textile-to-textile polyester recycling plant. It processes polyester-rich textile waste, including sportswear, uniforms, workwear, duvets, dressing gowns, and promotional scrim, into lentil-sized pellets that are then used to produce new yarn. The plant operates in a 35,000-square-foot facility and can produce roughly 3,000 tons of pellets annually. It aims to establish a closed-loop system to keep synthetic materials in circulation, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and consume up to 90% less energy than virgin polyester production. The project is backed by Global Recycled Standard certification to strengthen recycled content claims.
