Project Tango AI Data Center Expansion

under construction

Project Tango is a large-scale AI data center project in Loxahatchee, Florida. The project initially received approval in 2016 for a smaller-scale warehouse and data center. A recent application to expand the project with additional square footage was denied by Palm Beach County commissioners. Despite the denial of the expansion, construction continues based on the original approvals from 2016. The project has faced opposition from local residents due to concerns about environmental and community impacts such as heat, water usage, and noise. A moratorium on new data center applications has been enacted by the county, but Project Tango is exempt from this moratorium under its existing approvals.
