Description

Description

EMMpower aims to empower Europe’s music managers, building resilience in the face of common challenges, and competitiveness in the nurturing and development of Europe’s talent. EMMpower will be implemented by the European Music Manager’s Alliance (EMMA). EMMA brings together Music Managers Forums in Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the UK – with links to allied organisations in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. EMMA represents almost 3000 music managers across Europe, and another 600 worldwide, representing the commercial and professional interests of tens of thousands of artists, songwriters, producers, and DJs. European music managers, alongside those whose business interests they represent, will be the main beneficiaries of the project. The objectives are to strengthen and grow the network, help professionalise the careers of music managers, advocate for the sector and raise awareness of the value that it brings. The activities foresee include capacity building, innovative thematic networks around diverse music genres, a series of market spotlights, 2 mentorship programmes for talented new managers and masterclasses/workshops to support entrepreneurial and digital skills. EMMA will collect data and publish the first report on Europe’s music managers mapping the sector and its economic and social structure. EMMA will curate outreach events at showcase festivals and engage in advocacy campaigns to improve working condition. As a result of the project, music managers will be empowered and united through a dedicated, professional support network. They will be better equipped to face global competition and support the artists they represent both nationally and international. They will have a higher profile which will improve the sustainability of their careers and increase their ability to influence discussions on the future of the industry. The project will deliver 24 outputs including reports on networking activities and stakeholder events, a report on music management in Europe, an online hub of resources and toolkits and professional development activities, including the EMMMA mentorship programme.
