Description
Description | The Transit Headquarters (HQ) facility currently has asbestos-containing materials within the facility. Removing this was cost-prohibitive. The existing asbestos represents a potential health and safety risk for staff and the public. The scope of work includes removing and disposing of the existing asbestos-containing rain water pipe material and replace with new piping throughout the 67,500 square foot facility. The benefits to Public Transit would include an asbestos-free facility to operate in as well as less disruption to vehicle bays due to emergency repairs and unplanned vehicle bay shutdowns if the rainwater piping was damaged or failed. |
