Project to repair, reinforce, raise and waterproof the Ville Sainte Marthe dike on the lake

Following the flood in the 2019 spring, the town of Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac must bring to standards its protecting dyke before the 2020 spring. The repair of the backfill dyke, from the 1st Avenue to the 45th Avenue, includes the installation of a sheet piling wall rammed through the ground to the clay layer. After this, rock will be filled on the upstream and downstream faces to strengthen and protect the sheet piling structure. This riprap will also mitigate the waves’ impact and the erosion. The top of the dyke will be heightened to 26,5 meters, which will protect the town from floods at a return level of 1:1500 years (height 25,8 m) added to yearly recurrent waves (height of 0,7 m).
