Project Vision - World's First Fully Electric Cruise Ship

Project Vision is a concept by German shipbuilder Meyer Werft to build the world's first fully electric battery-powered cruise ship. The ship would be nearly a thousand feet long, carry 1,800 passengers, and operate with no smoke, rumbling engines, or local emissions. It would recharge its batteries while docked in port, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 95%. The battery system is developed by Corvus Energy and is designed for itineraries with ports close together, such as the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Norwegian fjords, Baltic Sea, Florida, and the Bahamas. The ship could be delivered by 2031 if a contract is secured in 2026.
