PROJET DE RENFORCEMENT DU SYSTEME DE SANTE (SANTE III)

The Health System Strengthening (HSSP) Health Project III is in line with the Government’s health policy and aims at improving the state of health of Guineans in general and the most deprived populations (women and children) in the periurban areas of Conakry and in three of the poorest districts in Middle Guinea in particular. It's designed in order to address the difficulties and constraints encountered in the health sector. The project focus on the development of basic health treatment with the view to increasing the populations economic and geographical accessibility to this type of care. Its outcome should contribute in improving the health cover in Conakry and in Middle Guinea by the opening of eight health centres and the rehabilitation of the district hospital, helping thus in upgrading the health of at least 600,000 women. The project should be executed over a period of five years, and comprises the four following components: (i) building of the system’s capacities; (ii) support to safe pregnancy programmes, control of STDs/AIDS and malaria; (iii) improved health cover in Middle Guinea and in Conakry; (iv) project management.
