The PACTE+ project is linked to the objectives of the European Union’s Work Plan for Sport, namely investments in sport and physical activity (at local level) and the ambitions to better promote Physical Activity. Its priority objective is to encourage cities to take a proactive approach to the promotion of physical activity, in sight of improving individual and collective well-being. The project is built around three main objective: - To take stock of cities’ improvements and the overall context to improve the Matrix for change - To unlock cities’ potential to champion physical activity through 4 pilot intervention and tailored support - Measure the impact of the program implemented to strengthen advocacy for physical activity and active City policies The project is built around four pilot intervention which will be focused on four cities to showcase benefits of implementing an active city strategy. In each city, different activities will be implemented. Using these lighthouse cities will help us to showcase the need for an Active city strategy and the interest of the PACTE Matrix for Change in doing so. Moreover, it will help us to Integrate further methodological elements in the Matrix for Change to better tackle raising concerns in urban policies, such as the question of the environmental dimension, smart cities concept and the overall issues raised during the COVID19 crisis. More than only implementing activities, one of the main objectives is to measure the impact as the longer-term effects of the outcomes to strengthen advocacy for physical activity and active City policies. Allowing partners to measure and highlight the value of the actions implemented and the impact of educational tools developed in the project is paramount in the project.
