Description
Description | The European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) gathers and mobilises liberal youth from across Europe to raise awareness of and discuss EU-related policies, including the EU Youth Strategy and the European Youth Goals. We focus on sharing best practices from experience across different Member States and propose initiatives and policy reforms directly to decision-makers in the European Parliament. We organise Congresses where we adopt policy proposals and resolutions. We also hold workshops, seminars, and training sessions to improve our members' skills and general knowledge. The organisation comprises member organisations (58) and individual members (over 100) from around 40 European countries and brings together a total number of about 100,000 young people from all over Europe. We expect that the LYMEC4EU operating programme will enable, this year again, further engagement and dialogue among youth from all parts of Europe. Europe stands at a pivotal moment, and the decisions we make today as young people will shape not only our own future, but that of generations to come. In 2026 and 2027, as a follow-up to our 2025 work programme, we aim to empower young people to become active promoters of democratic values in their communities in a rapidly changing Europe. We will align our work with the European Youth Goals and European Commission priorities for Youth such as Mental Health, Climate Action, and Digital Transformation. Our goal is to provide not only a platform to amplify liberal voices, but also a safe and stimulating space for young people to develop their skills, exchange ideas, and engage in EU decision-making processes. Therefore, we will organise around 20 activities (including 2 Congresses, 2 Digital Assemblies, 4 Policy Debates, 7 Board meetings and training sessions), during which we will adopt positions, train our members, draft calls for action, and foster cooperation between members by connecting engaged youth on our continent. |
