Promoting employment through rehabilitation of basic infrastructure and income-generating measures (UNDP)

The aim of the project is to contribute to improving the economic and social living conditions for internally displaced persons and the local population through employment promotion and income-generating measures. This is to be achieved through labor-intensive repairs and improvements to basic social and economic infrastructure and social services, as well as through improving the economic framework and providing vocational education and training. The project essentially has two components. The first component involves implementing classic cash-for-work measures that create short-term jobs and thus improve the economic situation of the target group and the situation in the host communities in the short term. The second component focuses on enabling and training the target group to be able to take advantage of longer-term and sustainable job opportunities. At the same time, a contribution is to be made to improving the economic framework in the project locations and micro-enterprises are to be promoted. A new feature here is the support of small agricultural businesses and individual farmers with training and the provision of fertilizer and seed.
