The aim of the project is to improve the employment and income situation in the Palestinian territories. In the short term, the economic relief for beneficiaries, their families and the Palestinian economy is to be achieved. In the long term, the aim is to create opportunities for medium and long-term employment that will continue beyond the end of the project. The individual measures include the development and successful application of wage cost subsidies to find jobs in the private sector, supported by accompanying training measures. In total, around 2,000 people will find employment, with the aim of 60% of them being women. The target group is primarily unemployed Palestinians or those at risk of unemployment (graduates and workers), and above all priority groups in terms of development policy, such as young people and women, who are severely affected by unemployment and loss of income. Of particular priority is the promotion of employment in particularly vulnerable parts of the country (Gaza Strip). The project executing agency is the Palestinian Employment Fund, which will be strengthened by the project in its function as a national implementing body for employment promotion, and which, through the planned capacity building, will be enabled to work independently and autonomously towards a better employment situation in the Palestinian territories in the future.
