Description
Description | "The volunteer project ""HEAL"" (Promoting HEALthy lifestyles to improve mental health and well-being) proposed by Solidarités Jeunesses, in the frame the European Solidarity Corps, includes a series of solidarity activities that will respond to some of the social needs detected in the youth field in the current Covid-19 context. After almost 2 years of worldwide pandemic, we believe that our project and activities can contribute to the improvement of mental health and well-being of people, including youngsters and especially those with fewer opportunities, migrants, and all the people that suffered loneliness and whose mental health got affected. Here are the main objectives of the project: 1. Promoting and experiencing collective living and healthy lifestyles. - Promoting alternative and solidarity-based modes of consumption; - Raising awareness about the importance of physical activity; - Learning about ecological and low-fat cooking; - Analysing and remodelling one’s practices and lifestyle ; - Reconnecting with people and nature after 2 years of Covid-19 pandemic; - Contributing to meaningful community work. 2. Involving vulnerable participants, especially asylum seekers and those who suffered mental health problems during the pandemic. Together with 10 European and international volunteering organisations, Solidarités Jeunesses will organise 18 volunteering teams and complementary activities in order to achieve a better mental health for youngsters who are weakened by the current health context." |
