Promoting Hydrogen Implementation and Utilization in Australia

This project supports Australian participation in the International Energy Agency (IEA) Technology Collaboration Program (TCP) on hydrogen over five years (2018 to 2023). Hydrogen energy is viewed as a key means to decarbonise the energy sector. It has led to the development of a National Hydrogen Strategy and the emergence of a globally significant industry for Australia. This project will enhance this development by engaging with the international hydrogen research community. The Australian Association for Hydrogen Energy (AAHE) will represent Australia on the IEA-TCP and coordinate broader engagement by the Australian hydrogen sector with this TCP. The hydrogen TCP is designed to facilitate, coordinate and maintain innovative research, development and demonstration activities through international cooperation and knowledge sharing. Australian participation in the IEA Hydrogen TCP to 2023 will see increased and broader representation of Australian stakeholders in the international hydrogen sector. Two new IEA hydrogen research tasks in areas of strategic interest for Australia will be established. Participation in IEA tasks, attend a major conference each year delivering a plenary or keynote presentation, deliver workshops to Australian stakeholders.Additional impactThrough collaboration with CSIRO, AAHE will establish the Australian Hydrogen Researchers Network and accompanying database. This will provide a database of hydrogen research projects within Australia for access by the domestic and international hydrogen community.

High
