Description
Description | Responding to the call priority “strengthening responses that prevent and support child victims of violence by reinforcing child protection systems at national and local level”, PROMISE Soteria supports the EU’s commitment to contributing to systemic change and improve the quality and range of service responses. In particular, PROMISE Soteria has a specific emphasis on promoting inclusive and resilient child protection systems, including in crisis and emergency, enhancing the ability of national child protection systems to work effectively on transnational cases, which often involve children in the most precarious of situations, and supporting excellence in practice of Barnahus. Through international exchange, practical tools and training, Promise Soteria will : a) strengthen national practice of well-functioning, accessible and resilient child protection systems that are adequately structured and equipped to function to protect children, including in periods of crisis and emergencies such as the Covid-19 pandemic, and the Russian invasion in Ukraine, b) strengthen the national child protection system’s ability to work on transnational cases, including in cases of online sexual abuse, third country children seeking protection within the EU or unaccompanied children moving from country to country within the EU and c) enhance the contribution of Barnahus as one important component of the broader child protection systems, whilst promoting excellence in practice in referral, assessment/ screening, support, coordination, protection and follow up in cases of violence against children. |
