Promoting Mixed Ability Sports through Roblox communities

To tackle the exclusion of disabled persons from sport activities, the MASBLOX project aims to promote social inclusion and equality in sports through the innovative use of Roblox e-sports and hubs to promote the Mixed Ability Sports (MAS) principles. Building on the MAS model, which emphasizes equality, participation, and community belonging, MASBLOX will foster the creation of eSports and Sports communities where non disabled persons and people with disabilities can play together. Coaches and Sport professionals will learn how to implement MAS in their clubs and how to create eSports local clubs to foster matchmaking through Roblox lobbies. As the goal is for the Roblox lobbies to become physical communities, participants, regardless their background and situation, will first have the chance to connect and play the MASBLOX eSport game, consisting of different Mixed Ability Sports, and then, participate in tournaments organized locally through the lobbies. The objective of the project is to bridge the communication and community gap between people with disabilities (physical, mental, etc.) and people who do not face any disability at all, promoting equal opportunities in common Sport communities.
