Promoting sustainable financing of vocational training

The project aims to improve the supply and access to high-quality, needs-based vocational training and further education, particularly for the agricultural sector, in Benin. By financing the construction and equipment of two LTAs (Lycées techniques agricoles) at the Cobly and Natitingou locations, the ADET (Agence de Développement de lEnseignement Technique) is supported in the implementation of the national strategies. By expanding 30 LTAs, this is implementing central elements of the Stratégie Nationale de léducation et formation technique et professionnelle (SNEFTP) and the Programme dActions du Gouvernement (PAG II). By supplementing the vocational school locations (Site pédagogique) with training companies (Unité Èconomique à Vocation Pédagogique), training and further education should take place in a practical and future-oriented working environment. The aim is to provide vulnerable groups in particular with the opportunity to receive training and further education in the agricultural sector, which will create the conditions for profitable employment. The project also aims to support the agricultural sector with high-quality trained specialists who are also well versed in modern technical equipment.
