Description

Description

With the project “Promoting the benefits of the CAP to younger generations with organic”, IFOAM Organics Europe aims at increasing awareness about the Common Agricultural Policy and its positive contribution to sustainability, competitiveness, and innovation in agriculture, using organic as a practical example of CAP measures in action, targeting civil society, farmers (organic and non-organic alike), with specific focus on young people (under 40). This will be achieved by different means: WP 1: Thorough project coordination will ensure quality and cost-effective management of the project, including subcontractors. WP 2: A study will assess the implementation of the current CAP, collecting lessons learned from the policy’s new delivery model. This study will help us to provide evidence-based information to raise awareness about the importance of CAP and its results integrated into the project’s communication campaign and used as a basis for discussion in the youth event (WP3). WP 3: 1) A communication campaign will play a crucial role in driving the entire project, with the objective of increasing the knowledge about the importance of the CAP for a sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas. The dissemination will span across IFOAM Organics Europe’s long-established network comprising 200 members in 34 European countries - including +30 farming associations; +20 civil society partners; +100 experts and researchers; 20,000 yearly website visitors; 41,000 social media followers; 3,000 newsletter’s recipients. 2) To deepen the engagement with younger generations, IFOAM Organics Europe will organise the 3rd edition of the Organics Europe Youth Event in 2026, bringing together 150 young farmers and citizens. Building on previous editions and the growing interest in the future of CAP, the conference will be dedicated to in-depth discussions on the latest developments of the policy and other related key topics, and build on the evidence collected in the study.
