Description
Description | "The project ""Promoting youth and women leadership in humanitarian aid contexts: international volunteering for peace in MENA and LATAM regions"" aims to strengthen the capacities and resilience of youth and women as key active agents for social change and peace. This will be achieved by the deployment of 20 volunteers in 13 hosting organizations in 11 countries from MENA and Latin America regions, the strengthening of capacities of the local communities, the reciprocal exchanges and learnings, and the public awareness actions at local, national and European levels. The Consortium gathers 3 EU-based support organizations with high-profile backgrounds and vast experience: MPDL (Spain) as leader, ADICE (France) and We World-GVC (Italy), and 13 hosting organizations in 11 countries: Morocco, Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Peru, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Colombia, Uruguay and Guatemala. The joint work developed throughout project’s lifetime will reinforce youth and women’s empowerment, consolidating their role as protagonists in the humanitarian response and social improvement, while strengthening the capacities of the local communities in the humanitarian context, through the exchange of technical skills with youth European volunteers. All by looking for a reciprocal exchange approach focused on providing with valuable tools both to the volunteers and the beneficiary communities. Project will work transversally on promoting gender approach, Culture of Peace and environmental-friendly practices. In addition, promoting inclusion and decreasing inequalities are also at the core of the project by including European youth with fewer opportunities, working on the digital gaps in hosting communities and highlighting an active participation and engagement by all Consortium members, volunteers deployed and communities for a sustainable impact beyond project’s lifetime." |
