Description | "The “Promotion of physical activity for cancer patients” (PACAP) project aims to contribute to the implementation of European Union strategies to improve public health and social inclusion, promoting the application of European guidelines on physical activity and sports activities for cancer patients and to help improve the quality of life of patients. The PACAP project aims to raise awareness and encourage people with cancer or those who have recovered to consider Nordic walking as an effective exercise method and to identify the benefits associated with this type of exercise. Nordic walking has proven to be an effective form of prevention and rehabilitation for cancer survivors. The project activities will last 24 months and will be implemented in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Croatia, Ukraine. To achieve these objectives the project involves the following actions: • organization of seminars aimed at promoting the project idea, the expected and achieved results; • definition of guidelines for the prevention of tumors and for the promotion of sport; • training at European level of sports personnel, medical and healthcare personnel and volunteers • Nordic Walking program: training programs will be provided for athletes and cancer patients. The recipients of the project are: cancer patients, coaches, instructors, educators, volunteers, staff of sports organizations, bodies and associations, public bodies The planned activities are: 1. Management, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation 2. Training and exchange of experiences and good practices 3. Seminars and sporting events in 6 countries Final results: - fact-finding survey on the current situation - ""Physical activity and tumors"" guidelines - E-learning platform with training sessions - awareness events in 6 countries - final conference - communication and dissemination" |
