Description

Description

The third phase of the FC project Promotion of Protected Areas PROFONANPE III (PAN III) is intended to contribute to the consolidation of the Peruvian protected area system. The project promotes effective management of the three coastal and marine protected areas Zona Reservada Illescas (ZRI), Reserva Nacional Sistema Islas, Islotes y Puntas Guaneras (RNSIIPG) and Reserva Nacional San Fernando (RNSF) (module objective) and thus focuses for the first time on marine and coastal biodiversity. This corresponds to the Aichi goals of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), which has been ratified by the Federal Government and the Peruvian Government. The target group of the project is the population of the areas bordering the three protected areas, who benefit directly from the use of natural resources and in the long term from the preservation of their livelihoods. The indirect target group of the project is the protected area administration, which is to be strengthened, and to a lesser extent other actors who will use the infrastructure and equipment provided by the project. The FZ contribution amounts to EUR 10 million.
