Description

Description

The FC measure provides for the construction of a wind farm at the Hrgud site in Republika Srpska. It is planned to build 16 wind turbines with an output of 3 MW each and connect them to the Bosnian interconnected grid. The total installed capacity of the wind farm will be 48 MW, and the expected annual electricity generation is around 126 GWh. The aim of the project is to diversify Bosnian electricity generation by expanding renewable energies and thus promote security of supply and sustainable economic development. Since Bosnia-Herzegovina is almost completely electrified, a specific target group cannot be named. The project is being funded by KfW on behalf of the federal government. The loan taken out by KfW and subsidized by the federal government amounts to EUR 60 million. The project sponsor is contributing around EUR 4 million of its own funds to the investment costs. The development of wind energy is still in its early stages in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so the project also has a demonstration effect.
