The project “ Promotion of the Active Citizenship – Želiezovce 2023” represents the cooperation of 7 partners from 4 countries. This year our project will be in the sign of active citizenship, the debates and expression of the EU future views, of reinforcing the European integration process based on solidarity and common values. The main aim of the project is to introduce the EU as a support Union with active, conscious and participating citizens, involved into decision making processes and aware of aspects of being Europeans. The project is designed to create opportunity for participants to discuss topics that are important to them in their daily lives; to promote exchanges between people of different countries, to reinforce mutual understanding and tolerance, to give opportunity developing a sense of European belonging and identify as Europeans. The participants will also discuss the topic of solidarity and to assess existing solidary mechanisms inside the EU. They will reflect on policy areas where such common mechanisms could be useful and developed while considering other possible channels of European solidarity like volunteering, donations, foundations, civil society organisations., charity. In connection with that volunteering as one of the way of solidarity will be presented. The participants get information how to practice solidarity, about positive aspects of voluntarism, Discussions will promote a culture of democratic exchange, in which all participants’ views are equally valued. Our ambition is to increase and encourage mutual understanding and frienship between the EU citizens, understanding the EU values, to support cooperation between municipalities, to encourage the EU citizens in active participation on the EU issues. Project will attend visitors from Hungary, Romania, Poland. Together with locals, 1 369 European citizens will be directly involved in project. Project will indirectly affect up to 50,000 people.
