Description
Description | The FC measure is part of the BMZ priority area of sustainable economic development (NaWiE) in Egypt and contributes to better training and employability of young people. The aim is to improve the conditions for sustainable economic development and create jobs in Egypt. The project consists of two components. As part of the first component, two sector-wide competence centers in the areas of renewable energies and energy efficiency are being set up at the Egyptian locations of Maghagha and New Aswan City. An EU mandate of EUR 13 million is expanding and supporting the project so that, among other things, a third competence center can be set up in Belbeis (in the Sharqiya Governorate) and the supported vocational schools in component 2 can benefit from investments and support in the area of energy efficiency. The second component focuses on the labor market-oriented development and renovation of vocational schools in the Cairo, Alexandria and Gharbia regions. The KfW school building standards are applied in the sense of a child and youth-friendly, fully functional design. In addition, special attention will be paid to increasing energy efficiency in the school buildings. Depending on requirements, additional rooms will be created that will enable the school, for example, to implement cooperation with companies, conduct competency-based teaching, have enough space for the number of students and provide the technical equipment for the development of new teaching activities. Training and further education for teachers will be carried out within the project for the pedagogical use, operation and maintenance of the technical systems. |
