Proposed Chantilly Data Center with Fuel Cell Power

T5 Data Centers is proposing a 312,000-square-foot data center in Chantilly, Virginia, powered primarily by natural gas fuel cells. The facility will use three power sources: on-site fuel cells providing 60 megawatts of electricity, electricity from Dominion Energy's power grid, and diesel generators as backup. The fuel cells will be located outdoors, connected to a natural gas pipeline about 4,000 feet away, and are expected to occupy about 82,650 square feet. The data center building is expected to exceed 75 feet in height and will be located on more than 18 acres within the Westfields International Center business park.
