The project aims to set up an airport capable of handling 30 million passengers a year. Two potential sites were identified, with the final decision favoring the Muthali site due to extensive government land, accessible roads, and existing infrastructure. Land acquisition started in December 2025, with 845 acres acquired so far. However, farmers from 12 villages oppose the project, citing concerns over farming activities and the project's feasibility due to proximity to an existing airport. |
