Prospect Terrace Fire Station Expansion

planned

The Broome County fire department is expanding its existing Prospect Terrace fire station by constructing an addition. The project involves demolishing a neighboring house to clear space for the expansion, which will include a larger truck bay, training, mechanical and tool rooms, and additional storage space. The original station was built seven decades ago, with an addition constructed in the 1990s. The fire company acquired the adjacent building for $100,000 and is supported by a $1 million state grant. A building committee is finalizing specifications, with a request for proposals expected by the end of October and construction potentially starting by next summer.
