Description | A two-way protected bike lane across West 72nd Street was proposed to Community Board 7 as part of a larger plan to create a bike route across the Upper West and East sides of Manhattan, connecting the Hudson River Greenway, Central Park, and the East Side Greenway. The bike lane would be protected by a lane of parked cars and would reduce the number of motor-vehicle lanes on West 72nd Street from four to two. A similar proposal for East 72nd Street is planned to be presented to Community Board 8 in the fall. |
