Description

Description

Objectives: - to protect and promote the rights of all children and to progress towards the fullest possible implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and related standards including Article 24 EU Charter of Fundamental Rights; - to improve ENOC members’ capacity building through regular and sustainable activities that will serve as a forum for the exchange of information/practice, professional and mutual learning and support among the members; - to include the voices and views of children and young people in ENOC’s work on a regular basis in a meaningful and sustainable manner, as provided for by Article 12 UNCRC and Article 24 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights; - In particular, to promote and protect children’s digital rights as part of ENOC’s priorities for 2019; - to continue monitoring, reporting and drawing the public’s attention on issues affecting children’s rights (or potential violations)-especially those of vulnerable groups, including children on the move. - to strengthen the Network’s child rights advocacy work at European, International and ENOC members’ level and to work towards a coordinated strategy with key stakeholders operating in the field. Activities: Planned activities include: renewing the Network’s child participation policy by continuously involving ENYA (the European Network of Young Advisors) in its annual activities; organising working/training/capacity-building seminars and an annual event for mutual learning and support; raising awareness on specific issues through the dissemination of ENOC policy statements and operational tools. Type and number of persons benefiting from the activities: Independent European Children’s Rights Institutions (42 ENOC members based in 23 EU countries); decision and policy makers at International, European and Country/regional levels; all stakeholders concerned (NGOs, professionals, academics, experts); the general public and potentially all groups of children & young people affected by the priority theme to be addressed in 2019. Expected results: - A better knowledge and understanding by ENOC members and all stakeholders involved of general and specific child rights issues; - Improved standards and extended use of good practices in ENOC member countries; - Addressing a full set of recommendations on the priority area to European, international and national decision and policy makers; - To increase the impact of ENOC’s collective voice by integrating children’s views and by empowering their participation in ENOC’s annual activities. Type and number of deliverables to be produced: - ENOC policy statement and young people’s (ENYA) written recommendations and/or audio visual creative materials on children’s digital rights; Newsletters; ad-hoc contributions or statements; website/blog.
