Description

Description

IGLYO is the world's largest LGBTQI youth and student organisation, representing 128 Member Organisations across 40 countries in the European region. We advocate for the equality and inclusion of LGBTQI children and young people, advancing and protecting their intersectional rights, promoting their diverse needs, connecting them across borders, and empowering their voices. Through this project, we aim to tackle discrimination against LGBTQI children and young people, protect and promote their safety, champion their equality, strengthen civil society working in our field, and connect the LGBTQI rights and children’s rights movement, while securing excellent governance and sustainability for our network. We will achieve this through international events, capacity-building training, thematic research, advocacy, awareness-raising campaigns, network building, regranting, and intersectional community dialogues. This project is underpinned by the Charter of fundamental rights, with a particular focus on Articles 1, 3, 11, 12, 14, 21, 23, and 24. The project directly contributes to the implementation of the EU LGBTIQ Equality Strategy, Gender Equality Strategy, the EU Anti-racism Action Plan, the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child, and the EU Youth Strategy. Sitting at the intersection of LGBTQI rights, youth rights, and children's rights, IGLYO provides a multifaceted and unique approach to advocating for marginalised communities in the European Union.
