Rapid development of the Lithuanian-Belarusian border regions results in ever increasing energy consumption. Traditional ways of electricity production (natural resources) emit harmful substances which has a negative impact on the environment. Therefore, alternative ways of electricity energy production and energy saving are in focus of cross-border cooperation for ensuring the sustainable development of the target territory. The project is aimed at encouraging energy saving and sustainable energy use in the cities of Drukininkai and Grodno.
