Information IIT Madras has come up with Providing Pumping Mains and Water Distribution System to the entire campus of IIT Madras ,SH Up gradation of the existing water supply system at IITM with a ticket size of 37 INR Crores. This project in Education Infrastructure sub-sector involves Setting up of College/University Infrastructure The current status of the project is Work in Progress and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project IITM has an existing water supply system. Since the system is already 50 years old, the pipelines have deteriorated in many places and the load on the system has also increased due to the addition of various buildings during the last 10 years. The distribution system is divided into six zones namely 1. New OHSR Hydraulic zone, 2. Staff club zone, 3. Children Park Hydraulic zone, 4. Central School Hydraulic zone, 5. BSB hydraulic zone, 6. Jamuna Hydraulic zone.
