Description

Description

Since 2020, the Commission together with Member States set up 11 medical stockpiles in ten Member States. These stockpiles provide a strategic reserve able to respond to cross-border health threats. Building on this experience Portugal responds to this complementary call, to further enhance the EU collective preparedness to medical and CBRN threats. The main goal is to develop and maintain a medical and CRBN stockpile in Portugal, able to respond to three main priority health threats, namely: - Pathogens with pandemic potential; - Chemical biological radiological nuclear threats (CBRN); - Antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The Portuguese proposal includes key items, consumables and components parts, based on Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), that will make it possible to mobilize as quickly as possible, with respect to the maximum departure delay set out in Section 6 and/or 8 of the Annex of Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/570.
