After the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, some of the most talented Ukrainian teenage professional ballet dancers continue dancing in the EU, keeping dreaming, discovering Europe and dealing with the consequences of war in their Country. Before the full-scale invasion, the dream of dancing in Moscow was still acceptable. Now it’s out of question. The film is a coming-of-age story that spans three years of the protagonists’ lives. Anatolii and Anna are in love. They have found their safe haven in Bratislava where they want to stay until the war ends. Sergii and Diana are 18 years old. They met for the first time in Stuttgart, after the great escape from Kyiv. Sergii was born a few kilometres from the front line in Donbass. Diana was born in Sumy, one of the first border towns attacked in February 2022. Will they ever see again their places as they left them? Eventually, Sofiia, 16 years old, fled to Milan. She now studies at La Scala Academy and lives with her grandmother who’s a caregiver looking after, 24/7, an elderly lady with the Down syndrome.
