Description | Asahan 1 is a 180 MW run-of-river hydroelectric power plant located in Indonesia’s North Sumatera Province at the upstream reach of the Asahan River. The plant has been operational since January 2011 and sells electricity to PLN, Indonesia’s national electricity utility, pursuant to a long-term PPA expiring on December 31, 2040. The contract stipulates an annual take-or-pay-energy level of 1,175 GWh. Asahan 1 is owned by BDSN, an Independent Power Producer whose principal shareholders are Fareast Green Energy Pte. Ltd. and PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB), a subsidiary of PLN, respectively. |
