This project aims to improve practices and to enhance the knowledge of adult education and training professionals in Portugal, in line with European policy initiatives in the field of adult learning, and highlighting European and national programs and initiatives focused on increasing qualification adults, especially the less qualified and the more vulnerable to the challenges posed by digitalisation, globalisation, population aging and the ongoing energy transition and climate changes. The project also intends to strengthen the community of professionals in adult learning, providing them with tools and resources that enhance their work in cooperation and interconnection with the local, regional, national, and European community, taking into account the guidelines for adult education and training provided by European Commission and adopted by Portugal. In addition to all activities promoted by CSS, considering the adopted EPALE topics, the planned activities will focus mainly on the Portuguese government's Qualifica programme (designed to increase adult qualifications in Portugal); the initiatives that will be developed in Portugal under the new European Agenda for Adult Learning (EAAL); the new tools, guidelines and regulations (such as the new standard for key competences in adult education and training - basic level and the Quality Charter from the Qualifica Centre-QC); the new qualification courses in the digital area; the regular activities, monitoring and training of professionals at the QC; the communication and awareness campaigns for engaging adult population into the qualification pathways ; the qualification incentives provided for in the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan. In summary, we hope to develop a greater correspondence between current national policies and practices with EPALE's activities,We want EPALE to be seen as a platform that is in line with what they are required to do when providing education and training for adults.
