Description | PT. South Pacific Viscose is a long-term IFC client and is internationally recognized as a competitive low-cost producer of high quality viscose staple fiber. The proposed IFC investment will be used primarily to support SPV in financing the expansion of a fifth viscose production line (Line 5) and setting up of a wet gas sulfuric acid plant (WSA) for sulfur recovery and regeneration of sulfuric acid. After Line 5 is commissioned, the production capacity for the SPV facility in Purwakarta, Indonesia will increase to 325,000 tons per year of viscose fiber from its existing capacity of 245,000 tons per year. The proposed project is expected to cost $192 million. IFC is considering an A loan of up to $30 million and a B loan of up to $110 million. |
