There is a growing attention to the impact of public sector policies on a sustainable economic development since the financial crises. Public Economics plays an important role in the European Union context by setting limits on budget deficits and public debts through the fiscal rules and coordination, providing public goods and services without overspending through the public finance management, redistributing income through taxation and social policies to reduce disparities and to enhance equal opportunities across countries. Given the status of Albania towards the path to the European Union, where a more in-depth process has already begun in certain areas with the opening of negotiations on some important chapters, the revision and updating of Public Economics in an European policy context is necessary to equip the students with the proper knowledge to face the needs of the labor market according to the qualifications required. This project is conceived to support the educational, professional and even personal development of students in education process and training through lifelong learning, building capacities of future professionals who will implement policies and EU initiatives, contributing to sustainable economic development and a secure accession on European Union. The overall objective of PEACE-EU aiming to increase the capacity of students as future technicians and decision-makers, which would be equipped with updated and relevant knowledge according to the political and economic processes in which our country is taking part. Apart the adaption of Public Economics Curricula and teaching activities, PEACE-EU project aim to bring together university students, academic staff, public finance experts, government institutions and NGO operating in the field of good governance and European Integration through workshops and open lectures or conference participation. A key aspect on the implementation of the project will be the promotion of EU values.
