Description

The Public Financial Management Project for Moldova aims to achieve effective and transparent management of public finances - as an enabler o f poverty-reducing programs and economic growth. The project consists of the following components: Component 1) will finance US$ 1 1.199 million worth of international and local consulting services, training, information systems, and office-related equipment, in three subcomponents: Budget Formulation Methodology; Budget Execution Methodology; and Financial Management Information System (FMIS). Component 2) will finance US$ 1.237 million worth of international and local consulting services, training, information technology and office-related equipment, in three subcomponents: Normative and Legal Framework for Internal Control and Audit; Transformation o f Financial Control into Internal Audit Function; and Expanding the Internal Audit to Line Ministries and Sub-national Entities. Component 3) will develop a sustainable institutional training capacity to develop civil servants' skills in key areas of public financial management. Component 4) will finance US$ 0.878 million worth of international and local consulting services, training, some limited information technology and running costs. Financing for this component will be provided by the Dutch Government through a trust fund.
