A new cargo terminal was developed at Pulkovo Airport by a joint-venture of Lufthansa's subsidiary GlobeGround (40%), the privatized Russian construction company LSGS (20%) and the State Unitary Aviation Enterprise Pulkovo (40%). The project company ZAO Pulkovo Cargo Terminal would build, own and operate the facility, which would have an area of 10,700 square meters and a handling capacity of 35,000 tonnes of cargo per year. This first phase involved a total investment of US$ 12.75 million. In Oct. 2000, the EBRD approved a financing package of US$ 8 million to the project sponsors: US$ 4 million as direct loan and US$ 4 million in syndication. In the future, the sponsors intended to raise the handling capacity first to 60,000 tonnes per year (Phase II) and then to 90,000 tonnes per year (Phase III). None None
